In this contest sponsored by IARPA, we integrated the consensus of experts with machine learning techniques and social media activity to predict the outcome of diverse geopolitical events, from riots overseas to the spread of influenza to the extent of arctic sea ice.

Our most successful methodology was the highest dollar-amount prizewinning solution, and led to an invitation as speakers to the IARPA HFC Program PI Meeting in Washington, DC.
